Police put Stamford Meadows on dispersal notice

Police have responded to anti-social behaviour reports by placing a dispersal notice on Stamford Meadows.

Lincolnshire Police were notified that large groups of young people in Stamford were behaving in a way that could be seen as criminal in the meadows.

This prompted a notice, which will be in place from 6pm on Thursday and run until 2am on Saturday, when it will be reviewed.

The dispersal notice has been organised to support police in reducing the likelihood of crime and disorder in the community.

This will give officers the power to force those who have committed, or are likely to commit anti-social behaviour, to leave the Meadows.

Anyone who ignores the notice will be committing an offence, prompting action from Lincolnshire Police.
