Parent fined after child repeatedly breached coronavirus lockdown

Lincolnshire Police officers have fined the parent of a child who “repeatedly breached” Covid-19 rules.

Officers said they had been forced to take action on the Boston parent after engaging and explaining failed to work.

A spokesman for the police said: “We really do not want to have to enforce, but for everyone’s safety on a very few occasions  we have no choice.

“Thank you to all the thousands of young people and their families who are abiding by the rules in challenging times.”

Earlier today, Deputy Chief Constable of Lincolnshire Police said the force had handed out more than 65 fines in total to those who have breached the coronavirus lockdown.

However, he said the majority of people were abiding by the rules and staying home unless travel was essential.

Fines this weekend have mainly been given to larger gatherings, including a group of joy riding bikers in Twyford Woods, near Grantham.
