Dream job? Clock in to work on Lincolnshire’s beautiful coast

If working on the beautiful Lincolnshire coast away from the hustle and bustle sounds ideal, then get applying now for the dream cafe hideaway job.

A rare opportunity has come up for a demanding job as the manager of a brand new cafe in a former Huttoft boat shed.

It will open just in time for the summer season and will serve as a stop-off point on the 16-mile coastal footpath from Skegness to Mablethorpe.

Don’t just expect to be sunbathing, the cafe will need to be open all-year-round to serve “high quality locally sourced food.”

It sounds like a serene place to work with floor-to-ceiling windows facing both inland and out to the sea.

It is a brand new development.

Lincolnshire County Council approved plans for the £490,000 attraction last year following on from the newly built North Sea Observatory at Chapel St Leonards.

As part of the plans, the council will replace the existing boatshed with a completely new building containing a cafe, a rooftop viewing deck and an external ground level deck.

Nearby public toilets are also set to be refurbished as part of the project.

Approving the plans, council officers said: “Huttoft beach continues to be a popular tourist destination throughout the year.

“At peak times a considerable number of tourists and cars visit the area which supports local businesses and amenities.

“Currently the only facilities available to visitors are the toilet facilities and so the new cafe would improve the facilities available and the overall visitor experience for tourists.”
