Boston care home’s plans for major expansion

This story is over

The owners of a care home near Boston want to carry out a major expansion to their facilities.

Capital Care Homes has applied to Boston Borough Council to create two single storey extensions to the Woodlands Court Care Home in Kirton.

The expansions will provide 12 additional bedrooms, a new lounge/dining area, kitchen, toilets and laundry room.

In documents before the council, the applicants said: “The proposal is for improvement of its existing facilities to cater for the activities and events planned for the residents all year round.”

How the expansions would be laid out and where they would go.

“To avoid future disruption to the residents, the combined works for the additional bedrooms are forward planning for the care home to meet future forecasted intake.”

The new bedrooms will include en-suite shower rooms.

The applicants say the expansion will be in line with the existing building, and that both extensions will be “largely hidden from view”.

The home, which has been open since 1980, currently caters for up to 54 adults.
