Urgent appeal to trace family of pedestrian injured in Caistor crash

Police are urgently appealing for help to trace the family of a man seriously injured in a crash in Caistor.

Lincolnshire Police officers attended a collision involving a pedestrian and a Skoda Octavia in Audley Top at around 9pm on Friday, December 13.

Police found a bank card on the pedestrian in the name of Vitalij Valiuk, who suffered serious injuries. The driver of the Skoda was not injured, police said.

Police are urgently trying to locate Mr Valiuk’s next of kin. It is believed that Mr Valiuk lived in the Thesiger Street area of Lincoln, but he may have links to Boston and Spalding. Police added that his date of birth may be March 27, 1993.

Enquiries show that the man police believe to be Mr Valiuk got on to a bus in Lincoln at 10.45am on December 13. He travelled to Caistor and was last seen in the White Hart pub at around 4.25pm that day.

He is described as a white male with short dark hair. He was wearing dark clothing/joggers and when in the pub he had a dark back pack. However, he no longer had his backpack when he was involved in the collision, police said.

Anyone with information should contact Lincolnshire Police on 101 or via email at [email protected] quoting reference 442 of December 13. It can also be reported through the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
