Man seriously injured after tree falls onto car near Spalding

A man in his 50s was seriously injured after a tree fell and crushed his car in a village near Spalding on Tuesday evening.

Lincolnshire Police were called at 6.21pm on Tuesday, December 11 to a report of a tree falling on a black Audi Q5 on the A151 High Road at Weston, Spalding.

Police said the male driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The road was blocked for some time before being reopened by highways.

James Perring, Lincolnshire Police Rural & Wildlife Crime Officer, tweeted later in the evening to say the “the boys from Green cuts are doing a stirling job in clearing the road following this fallen tree” and added that there was no update on the man’s condition.
