New Gainsborough Vodafone shop creates new jobs

A new Vodafone shop in Gainsborough has been officially opened this week, creating six jobs in the town.

The Mayor of Gainsborough Councillor Keith Panter joined staff at the shop in Marshall’s Yard to officially cut the ribbon.

The store is franchise partner programme, which aims to open at least 24 new retail stores in high street locations across the UK by the end of the year.

Managed by Rachael Beddow-Davison, who has spent more than 15 years of her career to the telecoms sector, the store will create six full-time roles in the town. It is the third Vodafone store Rachael has launched and she is hoping to repeat the success she currently enjoys in Lincoln and Skegness.

“I have been working as a Vodafone partner for just over a year and when the opportunity arose to open a new store in Gainsborough, I didn’t hesitate. I am passionate about helping people to succeed and I have always believed that with the right environment and support, people who can thrive and succeed.

“For example, since securing the keys to the store, I have been working with the local branch of the Department of Work and Pensions to give people who have been out of work for a period of time the chance to join us and build new and successful careers,” said Rachael Beddow-Davison.

Rachael intends to make the store an integral part of the local community and she has already stepped in to bring reindeers back to the annual Christmas lights switch on.

The reindeers will head to Marshalls Yard on Friday, November 15 from 3.30pm until 6pm as part of the town’s Christmas light switch on. What’s more, children will be able to visit the reindeers completely free of charge.

Rachael added: “As a new business in the town, we’re keen to play our part in supporting the local community. It is great to get involved in the Christmas light switch on, bring the reindeers back and give the people of Gainsborough an early Christmas treat.”
