A secret new venue will host Prime Minister hopeful Boris Johnson’s fundraising dinner in Lincolnshire this evening after flooding disrupted the original plans.
As previously reported, the MP born in New York, USA who turns 55 next week, will be the special guest at the “Dinner with Boris” event.
It was originally scheduled to take place in a marquee in the grounds of Belvoir Castle in Grantham during the evening on Thursday, June 13.
Deputy leader of South Kesteven District Council Kelham Cooke confirmed to Lincolnshire Reporter that the recent bad weather has caused flooding problems, so the event will not take place in the original venue.
It will still take place in the Grantham area, but Boris’ teams are unable to disclose the exact new location for the event.
It is understood a special event may be taking place at Belton Woods Country House this evening, but nothing has been officially confirmed.
The event is being held by The Conservative Associations of Grantham & Stamford, Sleaford & North Hykeham and Rutland & Melton.
Boris Johnson on Thursday topped the first round of the Tory leadership poll with 114 votes.
