A man who died after the motorbike he was riding crashed with a car near Stamford has been named by police.
As previously reported, officers were called to the crash involving a black Skoda Kodiaq car and a silver Kawasaki motorbike in Toll Bar, Little Casterton just after 10am on Sunday, June 2.
The rider of the motorbike was pronounced dead at the scene. Leicestershire Police since confirmed the identify of the motorbike rider as 47-year-old Daniel Whitlam from the Stamford area.
The driver of the car was not injured in the crash, police said.
The Skoda was travelling towards Old North Road, and the Kawasaki in the opposite direction, when the crash occurred.
Police said the investigation is still ongoing. They are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.
DC Louise McMahon from Leicestershire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit previously said: “Anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision and saw either vehicle prior to the incident or the incident itself and has not yet spoken to police, please make contact.
“Similarly if you have any dashcam footage that might help with our investigation please come forward.”
