Man jailed for sexual offences against young girls

A 53-year-old man from Spalding was jailed for eight years after being found guilty of sexual offences against young girls.

William Carr was sentenced to eight years imprisonment and an additional year on licence at a hearing at Lincoln Crown Court.

He was found guilty by a jury of one count of sexually assaulting a girl under 13 by penetration. He was also found guilty of five counts of sexually assaulting a girl under 13 by touching.

He must also sign the sex offenders register for life and was given a sexual health prevention order for 10 years.
