Inquest names man found drowned in Skegness

An inquest which opened on Thursday heard how a man drowned in the sea at Skegness beach in March.

As previously reported, officers were called to Tower Esplanade in Skegness at around 2.30pm on Wednesday, March 20 where a man was in the water around 200m out to sea.

The man has now been named as 56-year-old Tudor Andrew De Lloyd from Wainfleet.

An inquest was opened at Lincolnshire Coroners Court by coroner Timothy Brennand on Thursday, June 20 where the cause of death was confirmed as drowning.

The RNLI lifeboat crew were required to perform emergency casualty care. They also fetched a small boat which was drifting south on the incoming tide. At the time police said there were no suspicious circumstances.

At an inquest opening they usually confirm the name of the deceased and the place of death before setting a provisional date for it to be heard.

The case has now been adjourned until August 20, 2019.
