Blaze rips through town shops and homes

A fire ripped through businesses and apartments in Market Rasen on Friday morning.
Crews from Market Rasen, Caistor, Binbrook and Lincoln North all rushed to the fire on Union Street at around 4am.
Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue even rescued a woman from the blaze early this morning.
Around 25 firefighters have been working to dampen the flames, but it has already caused much damage and disruption in the town.

Local residents took to facebook to share their shock and condolences with the owners of the local shop and dance schools which have both been badly affected.

Berenice Smith said: “I’ve watched on as the school I built up over the last five years potentially go up with those buildings and not be able to do anything about it.
“We welcome 120 children into our studios beneath those flats. Without this business I stand to lose my home.”
Lincolnshire Police is still advising people to avoid Union Street and John Street.
