Drunk man called police, assaulted officers and then punched police car

A 34-year-old Skegness man punched a police car and assaulted officers after refusing to pay for his takeaway.

Lincolnshire Police received reports of violence on November 5 last year at Brian Avenue in Skegness.

Lee Croft, of the same address, made the call to officers and claimed the takeaway driver was banging on his front door.

When officers arrived Croft then started to be aggressive and even punched the window of a police car.

Croft was found guilty at Boston Magistrates, where he was ordered to pay £650 in costs and given a two-year conditional discharge.

The list of offences included being drunk and disorderly, four counts of obstructing a constable in the execution of their duty and the attempted criminal damage of a police vehicle.
