Workers continue battle to repair burst water main

Anglian Water workers are still on site trying to fix a burst water main on the A607 between Harlaxton and Grantham.

Customers may have had low water pressure or no water at all, so workers have been one site since the early hours of the morning and are still working to repair it.

It is proving to be a complex job that is taking longer than originally hoped, with an estimated restoration time of 5.30pm according to the Anglian Water website.

There are two-way lights up on the road whilst the repair is made. Water is expected to be back on in the near future, with the repair due to be fully completed by some point this evening.

A spokesperson for Anglian Water said: “We’re sorry that a number of customers in Harlaxton, Denton and surrounding areas may be have had no water today. Our teams are currently working to repair a burst water main on the A607 near Harlaxton, which we were alerted to this early this morning.

“While the repair is being completed, we have been working hard at moving water around our network and using tankers to bring as many customers back on water as possible.

“Two-way lights are in place on the A607 between Grantham and Harlaxton in order to allow our teams to complete the repairs as quickly and as safely as possible. We’d like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and would like to thank local residents for their patience whilst we get things back to normal.”
