More ice and snow warnings in weather forecast

As crash numbers mount the county’s roads, more warnings have been issued for ice and snow.

The Met Office has extended their warnings of snow and ice across Lincolnshire for the evening of January 31 and the morning of February 1.

The yellow warning is in place between 1pm on Thursday and 1pm on Friday. It warns of possible travel disruptions.

Some places in Lincolnshire have seen temperatures as low as minus five degrees celsius, but forecasters say it will hover around zero degrees celsius for the rest of the day.

On Friday, February 1 there’s a chance of snow in some places but the temperature will be slightly higher and peak around three degrees celsius.

There’s been a spate of collisions this morning causing heavy delays, as previously reported, and drivers are being warned to be careful in the cold weather.

People are also being reminded to be mindful of rough sleepers in their local community and to called the P3 charity:
