Two week road closure to follow A46 flood works

Drivers in the Middle Rasen area will face a further two weeks of disruption.

The A46 has reopened following two months of road closures and diversions for flood protection works.

As previously reported, people travelling through Middle Rasen on the A46 were diverted during the works to improve drainage from mid-August until this week.

There are still minor works being completed on Friday, October 19 under a local traffic management regime and works will now take place on Manor Drive in Middle Rasen, which will be closed for up to two weeks.

The flood alleviation scheme to protect 51 homes from flooding in the village saw an upgraded surface water drainage system, including new pinwork under several roads, to help deal with heavy rainfall, and those major works have now been completed.

Executive Member for Economy and Place at Lincolnshire County Council, Councillor Colin Davie, previously said: “These works will protect the residents of Middle Rasen and has been one of our priority schemes after investigations into property flooding in the village.”
