A 52-year-old man was jailed for 27 months and ordered to pay back over £125,000 of his own money and belongings, including a Mazda 6 car, due to mortgage fraud and money laundering.
Jacob Robert Smith of Alexandra Street in Thorne, South Yorkshire, pleaded guilty to two counts of mortgage fraud and one count of money laundering back in June 2017.
He was sentenced to 27 months in prison and has since been released on licence.
A confiscation order was made against him at Hull Crown Court on September 27, which gives him three months to pay back a total of £126,647.33.
His assets include a percentage of his marital home, land and buildings at Goxhill Airport, a Mazda 6 car, money and a luxury watch.
If he doesn’t sell his assets within the time given, he could serve an extra 18 months in prison, police said.
