2018 Select Lincolnshire Award Winners announced

Lincoln Minster School were among the 11 winners announced at the 2018 Select Lincolnshire Food Drink & Hospitality awards during a ceremony held at the school on Tuesday.

The school picked up the award for Teaching Establishment of the Year and Head Chef Rob Smith and the catering team provided a six course Lincolnshire meal for guests, with all ingredients supplied by local members of Select Lincolnshire.

Scaman’s Eggs, Leadenham Teahouse, Redhill Farm and Forest Pines Hotel were just some of the other local businesses to pick up awards at the event celebrating the food, farming and hospitality sector in Lincolnshire.

The event was organised and hosted by the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce and Select Lincolnshire and BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s Melvyn Prior compered the evening.

Chief Executive at Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce Simon Beardsley said: “Congratulations to all of the winners and shortlisted businesses. We were delighted to receive record volumes of entries this year and the standard of applications was incredibly high.

“We are proud to be part of a brand that gets to champion and showcase Lincolnshire’s finest when it comes to local food, farming and hospitality and we look forward to seeing what they do next.

“When it comes to food, farming and hospitality in Lincolnshire, I think it’s safe to say that what we have here in the county is very special, and Select Lincolnshire will continue to play a prominent role for local businesses”.
