Luxury wing opens at Boston care home

A new luxury wing has been revealed at a Boston care home after a six-month refurbishment.

Hunters Creek care home on London Road in Boston has a new 16-bed wing called Forget-Me-Not Court.

The new garden wing provides residents with en-suites, pressure relieving mattresses, a bistro dining area and a Skype facility to keep in touch with family and friends.

Each bedroom has a different colour scheme, and the care home has worked with an artist to provide personalised murals throughout the wing.

Boston town centre has its own mural.

It has been opened by the largest provider of care homes in Lincolnshire, Tanglewood Care Homes.

Tracy Ann Shelbourn, director of Tanglewood Care Homes, said: “Forget-Me-Not Court aims to be the best residential care community in the county in terms of its facilities, social activities, decor and furnishings.

“It is perfect for older people who are still young at heart and seek an active retirement in comfortable and peaceful surroundings.”

An artist has worked with the care home to install murals.

Dupe Adewuyi, manager at Hunters Creek care home, said: “It’s exciting and pleasing that we’ve reached the point where we can show what a fantastic facility Forget-Me-Not-Court is.

“It is designed for people with low care needs, and my team is fully trained and prepared not only to make sure the residents are safe but also to maintain a high standard of living for the duration of their stay.”

The Mayor of Boston, councillor Judith Skinner, is set to formally open the facility on September 14 at 2:30pm.

Tanglewood Care Homes is also set to open a new 72-bed care home in Lincoln early next year.

The bedrooms have their own colour scheme.

The cafe and bistro is a gathering place for residents.
