Emergency services are dealing with a pile-up involving four cars and a lorry carrying bricks on the A46 at Newark this morning.
Nottinghamshire Police said the crash on the bypass was reported to police at around 7.48am on Tuesday, August 14.
It happened on the northbound carriageway between the Cattle Market island and Brownhills.
The road is closed at both directions at the time of writing. This is causing major delays of around 30 minutes on the dual carriageway on the Lincolnshire border.
Drivers have been advised to avoid the area where possible and to find alternative routes.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue crews are on the scene along with East Midlands Ambulance Service.
It is not yet known if there have been any casualties as a result of the collision.
