The Met Office has predicted a continuation of the 25 °C heat into the weekend, and expects the weather to stay above 20 °C into next week as well.

The reason the heatwave is lasting longer than usual is because it is not caused by warm air pushing in from the near continent. Instead, it’s a knock on effect from the weather lifting the temperature day by day. The last time this effect was seen was during the notoriously hot summer of 1976.
June bordered on the top 10 hottest since records began 359 years ago and bookies have slashed the odds that July will break temperature records to just 2/1.
Are you enjoying the hot weather? Or are you ready for it to end?
