Police are now treating a crash in which a man was hit by a car as murder after the 46-year-old victim died.
Lincolnshire Police have officially named the victim in the collision near Spalding as local man Kevin Nix.
As previously reported, Alison Skingsly, 42, of Thames Road, Spalding was initially charged with wounding with intent and failing to comply with a breathalyser test after the incident.
Charges will once again be reviewed following the victim’s death and police confirmed the case is being treated as a murder investigation.
Skingsly appeared before Lincoln Magistrates Court on Tuesday, June 26 and will be remanded in custody before the next hearing on July 30.
The crash involved a black Peugeot 307 and happened on Common Drove near Ye Olde Bridge Inn in Crowland on the evening of Sunday, June 24.
Kevin Nix was taken to hospital with critical injuries, but did not survive.
His family have been informed, police said.
Lincolnshire Police said: “In light of Kevin’s death, this is now being treated as a murder investigation and charges will be reviewed.
“Alison Skingsly has been remanded in custody and the next hearing is July 30.”
