Professor Brian Cox heading to Grantham Gravity Fields Festival

Professor Brian Cox will give a special presentation at Grantham’s fourth Gravity Fields Festival this autumn after the event received a £89,500 grant from Arts Council England.

A big space show, a garden of light and a circus act will be among the entertainment at the event which will take place between September 26-30.

This year’s theme is Voyages of Discovery, based on the 250th anniversary of the HMS Endeavour sailing to Australia when Lincolnshire botanist Sir Joseph Banks, a president of the Royal Society, was on board with Captain Cook.

Keep an eye out here for ticket sales and more information when the Gravity Fields website goes live.

Tickets for festival’s events at Meres Live at Meres Leisure Centre in Grantham range from £10-33 and are already on sale here as well as at Grantham Guildhall box office.

What’s on at Gravity Fields Festival:

South Kesteven District Council leader councillor Matthew Lee said: “Our 2018 grant allows us to be bold, and to engage with world class artists. I have seen the plans and I know it’s going to be simply spectacular.

“We attracted crowds in excess of 18,000 two years ago to our Saturday night spectacular and we are confident that people will be back in similar numbers, and similarly enthralled.”
