Senseless vandalism leaves Sleaford care home site in complete mess

Vandals in Sleaford left a devastating mess for teams building a new care home for the elderly.

Doors were damaged, paint was splattered and windows were painted out by vandals at the care home construction site on Furlong Way, near Holdingham roundabout in Sleaford.

The care home was targeted at some point overnight on February 21/22.

The offenders opened cans of paint and caused significant damage to windows and carpets, police said.

Police added that the offenders will have paint on their clothes or shoes.

The damage caused by the vandals is likely to be a setback in the building project, which will be used as a care home for people with dementia.

PCSO Patrick Welby-Everard said: “It is devastating when you see the level of damage. It is a building that is to be used for elderly people with dementia. This is an act of vandalism that is senseless, callous and totally pointless.”

Police are appealing for anyone with information to call 101 with incident number 58 of February 22.
