20 crashes on icy Lincolnshire roads in one morning

Lincolnshire Police dealt with at least 20 collisions in icy conditions on the morning of Tuesday, February 27.

Officers appealed drivers to take caution during a week-long cold snap across the county.

One person has been seriously injured after a crash involving a car and a lorry on the A15 at Baston. 

Emergency services closed the road in both directions and diversions were expected to be in place for much of the day.

At around 8.15am, a bus carrying 45 school children collided with a car and left Custom Road, between Frognall and Stowgate near Deeping St James.

The children have been escorted from the crash site, with no injuries reported.

The road was closed for recovery of the bus.

Lincolnshire Police also had to deal with a collision involving four cars at Old Leake, Boston. There are not believed to have been any injuries as a result. 

While they were attending that, they gained knowledge of another two cars who had skied off the road in very icy conditions.

Lincolnshire Police has appealed to the drivers to drive safely and follow the safety tips.
