Man hospitalised after crash on A18 west of Scunthorpe

A man has been taken to hospital after a crash involving three vehicles on the A18 at Gunness, west of Scunthorpe.

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 6am on Tuesday, January 23, following a crash between two cars and a lorry.

One driver was stuck and had to be released by firefighters and paramedics.

He was transferred to Scunthorpe General Hospital for a precautionary check-up.

A second driver managed to release himself and suffered minor injuries to his abdomen.

Motorists were diverted via Burringham and Flixborough.

The road has since reopened.
