Hurry! Last chance to apply for The Great British Bake Off 2018

This story is over

Lincolnshire bakers have just two days to put themselves forward for the ninth series of the Great British Bake Off, which will air later in 2018.

Applications close on Sunday, January 7, so you do not have long to fill out the form describing your baking talents.

The hit series moved from the BBC to Channel 4 in 2017, with Prue Leith replacing Mary Berry as a judge alongside Paul Hollywood.

New presenters Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig were also introduced as part of the move.

Only amateur bakers can take part in the show, meaning full-time bakers, chefs and cooks are ruled out.

You must also not have any catering NVQ and/or any other qualification in baking, cooking, food production, food preparation or catering, unless it was acquired over 10 years ago.

Filming is expected to take place sometime during the spring and summer.

The application form whets the appetite, asking: “Are you brilliant with brioche? Or marvellous with meringue?

“If you or someone you know, is ready to sieve the dream, then why not take a whisk and apply now?”
