Tributes to man, 19, found dead after night out in Cleethorpes

This story is over

Tributes have poured in after a 19-year-old man was found dead following a work night out in Cleethorpes.

Liam Toner, from Ulceby, was reported missing following a night out on Friday, December 15.

Reports suggest he was found 23 hours later on a grass verge, where a taxi had dropped him off.

Zoe Pricefram-Taylor, a friend of Liam’s family, said on a JustGiving Page set up to raise money for his funeral: “After a hard 23 hour search by family and friends for missing son of Emma Hardy, Liam was eventually found by his grandmother, he had passed away on the verge where his taxi had dropped him off.

“Liam was a very happy hard working 19-year-old boy, he was out enjoying his Christmas work night out.

“After him not arriving home his mother got worried and went looking for him, the next morning family and friends joined her in the search for missing boy.

“After a long 23 hours Liam was found, but by then it was too late.”

Superintendent Dave Houchin, from Humberside Police, said: “We can confirm that we are linking our investigation into a missing person with the report of the body of a young man being found in Holton-le-Clay in Lincolnshire.

“Humberside Police officers are working closely together with our colleagues at Lincolnshire Police to establish the circumstances.

“Initial indications are that this is sadly a tragic incident in which a young man has passed away.”

‘Gone too soon’

Friends and family have now taken to social media to share their memories of Liam.

Joy Thewliss posted: “Absolutely devastated, gone too soon, I will never forget the memories we shared. RIP.”

Ashanti Storr said: “I woke up to the most heartbreaking news I never thought I’d get.

“What can I say, I have no words, RIP my angel.

“You were the best cousin anyone could ever ask for, I love you so much and I’ll make you proud I promise.”

Martin W J Sanders added: “Absolutely gutted! It doesn’t seem fair that someone so young can be taken away.

“Thoughts are with his family and friends at this painful time.”

Saskia Rick said: “Rest in peace Liam Toner, still in so much shock and still can’t believe it.

“Such a lovely lad, fly high sweet.”

A JustGiving page has now been set up to give Liam the send off he deserves.
