Son issues tribute to man who died in Lincolnshire quarry accident

The man who died in an industrial accident at Stainby Quarry near Grantham has been named as 57-year-old Richard Marjoram from Deeping St Nicholas.

His son Ben has issued an emotional tribute following the news of his death, stating: “Words cannot describe how much we miss him.”

He said: “We are deeply shocked and upset at the death of my father, who was a very special husband to mum and also a fantastic father and much loved grandfather.”

Richard was from the Deeping St Nicholas area.

Lincolnshire Police and the Health and Safety Executive have launched a joint investigation into the incident at Stainby Quarry in Buckminster on Monday, July 3.

As reported previously, Richard died following an industrial accident involving a HGV at around 11am.

The 57-year-old employee was pronounced dead at the scene.

Teams of police officers and investigators were stationed at the entrance to the quarry throughout the afternoon and were seen delaying a police drone.

Lincolnshire Police are investigating under incident number 165 of July 3.
