A man murdered in the street in Scunthorpe town centre was due to appear in court next week charged with aggravated burglary.

Kyle Bell, 25, was found dead by police with stab wounds on Mary Street in the early hours of July 4.

A 21-year-old man found nearby was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Humberside Police have launched a murder investigation and specialist officers are working with the family.

Bell was previously jailed for 16 months in January 2015 for driving offences and possession of crack cocaine.

A police spokesperson said: “Our teams are working hard to identify the person, or persons, responsible for this crime and are continuing to follow a number of lines of enquiry.

“We are interested to hear from anyone with information that could assist our investigation and are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw the victim in the days or hours leading up to the incident.”
