A man who has recently been living in Grimsby has been jailed for four years after sexually assaulting two children as young as eight.

Craig Pike admitted sexually touching the girls between 2007 and 2011 on around four occasions when he pleaded guilty to one count of indecent assault and three counts of sexual assault at Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday, May 30.

Pike, 39, and now of Harwill Crescent, Aspley, Nottinghamshire, was jailed on Friday, June 2.

He was also handed a sexual harm prevention order which includes preventing him from storing digital images and having unsupervised contact with children.

Pike initially denied the allegations when a victim first came forward eight years after the offences had happened.

However, he eventually pleaded guilty due to the strength of evidence against him.

Detective Sergeant Adam Cooper of Nottinghamshire Police said: “I would like to thank both of the victims who have shown such strength and bravery in bringing Pike to justice over the past two years.

“I’m pleased with the sentencing as it sends the message out that no matter how long ago an offence took place, we are still able to gather the evidence needed to get these offenders behind bars and prevent them from causing more harm.”

“If you or anyone you know may be a victim of sexual abuse, please contact police on 101.”
