Spalding woman charged with drink driving after crashing into river

A Spalding woman has been charged with driving while over the legal alcohol limit after crashing her car into a river last month.

As previously reported, the 58-year-old woman from Spalding was arrested and has since been charged after she crashed her car into a river on Parsons Drove, Wisbech, on April 30.

Steve Jones, from Woking in Surrey, came to her rescue at around 9.15pm.

Police were alerted to the scene and a rescue mission began.

The woman has now been bailed to appear at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on May 17.
