This story is over

Boston Borough Council is appealing for witnesses after trees, one which had been growing for five years, were destroyed by vandals.

The trees were snapped off in St John’s Park, Skirbeck Road, and the damage was first noticed on Saturday, May 6.

More damage was noticed on Wednesday, May 10 when three fruit trees provided by the Boston Town Area Committee had been broken.

These trees were part of a scheme to create a community orchard where local people could help themselves to the ripe fruit.

Boston Borough Council would now like to speak to two teenagers; a girl aged between 14 and 17-years-old, with dark hair, dark rimmed glasses and wearing a black bomber jacket and black jeans and a boy aged between 14 and 16-years-old, slightly built, with brown hair and wearing a dark top and blue jeans, in connection with the incident.
