Gusts of up to 60mph could hit Lincolnshire later this week as a spell of windy weather is set to bombard large parts of the UK.

The Met Office has issued the weather warning for wind which is valid from Friday, February 3 at 6am until 11.55pm.

A chief forecaster at the Met Office said: “A number of potentially vigorous low pressure systems are likely to move quickly towards northwest Europe later this week.

“One of these, on Friday, may affect southern parts of the UK. However there is, if anything, a stronger signal, that the worst of the winds will pass south of the UK.

“Even so, spells of wet and windy weather will be affecting many areas later this week and over the weekend, with surface water issues an additional hazard in southwestern parts of both England and Wales.”
