Emergency services and army remain on guard as high tide passes in Lincolnshire

This story is over

Emergency services are continuing to monitor the potential for a storm surge along the Lincolnshire coast, despite this morning’s high tide passing without major incident.

Some 11 residents have spent the night in the county’s rest centres in Louth as a precaution.

The A52 at Trusthorpe has also been closed as a precaution.

The number of homes now considered ‘at risk’ has been reduced from as many as 4,000 to around 1,000.
