Arrests made in Lincolnshire church sex abuse investigation

This story is over

A number of people have been arrested following investigations into historical child sex abuse involving some churches in Lincolnshire.

Lincolnshire Police have confirmed that a number of people have been bailed pending further inquiries in connection with Operation Redstone.

The operation was launched after concerns grew from referrals to the force in 2015 after a review of past safeguarding cases by the Diocese of Lincoln dating back to 1958.

The force will not disclose how many arrests they have made, due to the ongoing and sensitive nature of the investigation.

Further announcements will be made if there are any other developments, such as anyone being charged.
