Building firm Travis Perkins has confirmed that it has no plans to close any branches in Lincolnshire following its announcement that 30 sites will close across the country.
Travis Perkins currently employs 28,000 people across 2,060 sites in the UK. As part of the company’s quarter three results, the company are re-evaluating which sites its customers use.
The proposed closures across the country will result in a total loss of 600 jobs, which the company has put down to an “uncertain UK outlook”.
In Lincolnshire, Travis Perkins currently has 15 branches in locations including: Boston, Stamford, Spalding, Skegness, Sleaford, Alford, Bourne, Lincoln, Horncastle, Market Rasen, Grantham, Gainsborough, Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Epworth.
None of these are set to close.
The company’s chief executive, John Carter, said: “It is still too early to predict customer demand in 2017 with certainty and we will continue to monitor our lead indicators closely.
“Given this uncertainty we will be closing over 30 branches and making further efficiency-driven changes in the supply chain, resulting in an exceptional charge of £40-50m this year.”
