Pensioner dies after month-long battle in hospital following crash near Sleaford

A pensioner has died in hospital from injuries sustained following a car crash over one month ago.

The 78-year-old man was a passenger in a white Ford Fiesta which was involved in a collision with a red Ford Focus.

The crash occurred at the junction of the B1209 Moor Lane and the A153 in Leasingham at around 10.50am on September 9.

The man was flown to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham by air ambulance.

He was later transferred to Lincoln County Hospital where he sadly succumbed to his injuries on October 8.

The drivers of the Fiesta and the Focus were both taken to Lincoln County Hospital with injuries that were described as minor.

Witnesses to the collision who have not contacted Lincolnshire Police so far should do so on 01522 558855, quoting incident number 152 of September 9.
