Officers work to resolve disturbance at Lincoln Prison

Staff at Lincoln Prison are currently working to resolve a disturbance which broke out in one of the wings this morning.

A number of police riot vans and cars were called to the scene of the incident, which began this morning.

The Ministry of Justice has confirmed the disturbance was confined to one wing of the Victorian prison and all prisoners are in their cells.

A MOJ spokesperson said: “Staff are working to resolve an ongoing incident at HMP Lincoln. All prisoners are currently in their cells.”

They also confirmed there have been no fires, riots or any hostages taken.

GeoAmey prison vans have been arriving throughout the afternoon.
