A new £3 million service station has opened in Laceby, creating 40 new jobs.

The Laceby Lodge Services houses a Spar shop and Shell petrol forecourt store alongside a Greggs, Subway and an Insomnia coffee shop on the Laceby Crossroads in Grimsby.

The 5,000 sq ft store, which occupies the former Little Chef site, was officially opened on Wednesday, August 10.

The Shell petrol station features eight standard fuel pumps, a jet wash and an electric car charging point.

Approximately 30 parking spaces are available for visitors to the site.

The store will be run by family-owned convenience store operator Blakemore Retail.

Carolyne Barker, Blakemore Retail Ltd Area Manager, parent company of Spar, said: “We’re looking forward to bringing our latest Spar convenience offer to Laceby and would like to welcome the local community to join us for our opening celebrations between 10am and 3pm on Saturday, August 13.”
