Over 30,000 visitors expected at Heckington Show

This weekend will mark the 149th Heckington Show, with 30,000 visitors expected over the two day event.

Heckington Show is Britain’s largest village show and attracts thousands of visitors with a range of stands, activities, exhibits and attractions spread over 30 acres of land.

The event will be from 9am until 10.15pm on Saturday, July 30 and 9am until 5.30pm on Sunday, July 31.

What to see:

  • Trade stands, including crafts, antiques and food outlets
  • Horticulture, cookery and arts stands
  • Main Ring, where a number of events will take place throughout the weekend including track races, scurry driving and a heavy horse parade
  • Heritage area, where a WWI mark one tank will be situated
  • Countryside area, where there will be owl and hawk displays, ferrets and gun dogs
  • Concert Marquee, with music played throughout the weekend from bands around the county
  • Vintage Machinery
  • Animals and livestock, including a dog show, donkey show and farm animals
  • Sports and showjumping, including tug of war, children’s race and cycling
  • Food hall
  • Activity zone, including giant tortoise displays, a climbing wall and model boats

Not to be missed:

On Saturday at 7pm there will be a fireworks display and concert which will last until around 10pm.

The concert will see Sleaford Concert Band playing a number of songs and a firework display will follow.
