Wondering what to do with the children this September? How about uncovering Barton-upon-Humber’s hidden history with the help of some fun, games and stories in the town’s best known historic buildings? From Victorian playtimes at the Wilderspin National School to dangerous tales of the Barton Ropery.
This guided walk will show children the town’s historic buildings in a new light with the help of historical characters, short stories and a secret garden. Meanwhile, grown-ups will get a new perspective on the town’s history and a look at the innovative Hidden Histories smartphone app.
There are surprises at each of the six buildings where we stop in association with Heritage Open Days. All you need is a pair of feet and a sense of adventure.
Two walks will be leaving at 10am and 11am, each lasting two hours. Booking is advisable – Just telephone 01652 635172
