Grantham College celebrates improved Ofsted rating

A Grantham college has been praised by Ofsted after achieving a ‘good’ rating in its latest inspection.

Following an inspection from September 19-22, the watchdog rated Grantham College on Stonebridge Road as ‘good’ overall after previously being rated at ‘requires improvement’.

Ofsted’s inspection framework reviewed the main areas and the college was graded ‘good’ in all areas, these were:

  • Effectiveness of leadership and management – Good
  • Quality of teaching, learning and assessment – Good
  • Personal development, behaviour and welfare – Good
  • Outcomes for learners – Good
  • 16 to 19 study programmes – Good
  • Adult learning programmes – Good
  • Apprenticeships – Good
  • Provision for students with high needs – Good

In the report, inspectors said: “Leaders and managers have improved the standards of teaching, learning and assessment since the previous inspection.

“As a result, most students make good progress.

“Students are confident, well-behaved and respectful of each other; they enjoy learning in a safe and inclusive environment.”

Principal, Paul Deane said: “It is thanks to the dedication and hard work of our staff and students that Ofsted have graded the college Good overall.

“We are pleased that they recognised that the college is Good across the board including provision for 16-19 year olds, apprenticeships for all ages, provision for adults and provision for students with high needs.

“This confirms that Grantham College is a great place to learn and develop your career and we are confident that this will encourage more individuals and employers in the Grantham area to take advantage of the excellent services we have to offer.”
