They need you! Lincolnshire fur babies in need of a home

Many Lincolnshire charities put in time and effort to look after rescued animals in need of care.

The organisations give the animals a second chance at life but can only give them a temporary home.

Do you have it in your heart to give these long-standing residents a permanent loving home?

Here are just a few of Lincolnshire’s pets in need of a forever home:


Jet

  • Name: Jet
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: One year and one-month-old
  • Location: Blue Cross Grimsby Institute College
  • Hobby: Sunbathing in the cattery

Jet was handed in to Blue Cross due to a change of owner’s circumstances.

She has had kittens and is now looking for a home of her own.

Jet currently has been overlooked due to her colour but is a lovely cat.

Danny Boy and Reuben James

  • Names: Danny Boy and Reuben James
  • Gender: Both male
  • Age: Reuben James – four-years-old, Danny Boy – three-years-old
  • Location: Bransby Horses
  • Hobby: Being pampered and fussed

Danny Boy and Reuben James came into the care of Bransby Horses in August 2016 after the External Welfare Team received a call to attend to 26 Shetland ponies, whose owners, despite their best attempts, could sadly no longer meet their basic care needs.

These boys have a kind and affectionate nature.

Danny Boy and Reuben James would love to find their forever home where they can be cherished for years to come.

Jack and Pansy

  • Names: Jack and Pansy
  • Gender: Male and female
  • Age: Both approximately 10-years-old
  • Location: Lincolnshire Rescue Kennels
  • Hobby: Playing and cuddling with each other

The pair came in with another dog in the family when their owner sadly died.

The third dog was claimed by a family member, but the two older ones were not.

They were very scared and nervous when they were taken on by the charity, but have now blossomed into lovely, affectionate dogs.

They must be rehomed together.

Tammy

  • Hobby: Being fussed by a human and sitting on a lap

Tammy was admitted to Blue Cross recently due to her owner’s ill health.

She is a fabulous cat and will be fussed for hours!

Ruby

  • Hobby: Sleeping

Ruby came to the charity via the council as an owner surrender.

She is the longest resident the charity currently has.

Scarlett

  • Name: Scarlett
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: Nine-years-old
  • Location: Bransby Horses
  • Hobby: Cuddles

Scarlett came into the care of Bransby Horses in November 2016 at the request of the RSPCA after she was found abandoned close to a busy road and was ushered into a garden to keep her safe.

Upon veterinary assessment, Scarlett was diagnosed with Strangles and was later declared free from the disease following extensive treatment.

Scarlett is a kind and affectionate young horse that is looking for a home as a companion.

This loving mare would like to a home where she can thrive on one-to-one attention.

Frankie

  • Hobby: Playing with his toys

Frankie came to the charity from another kennel who were struggling to rehome him .

He needs training and an owner who will be kind but firm.

He can be strong on the lead.

Percy

  • Hobby: Hacking

Percy came into the care of Bransby Horses in 2009 at the request of the RSPCA as he was in a very poor condition.

Percy is a handsome ex-racehorse looking for a home where he can enjoy light hacking and light schooling work.

He needs good grazing and a quiet settled routine.

He would love to find his ‘Friend for Life’ where he can receive the attention he deserves.

Lily is a staffie x saluki currently in paws and claws adopt foster rescue.

She went into care with her sister but her sister has been reserved.

She is a loving pup who is great with kids and other dogs.
