A fire at five terraced properties in Hemswell Cliff this morning has caused extensive damage, with the roof of one house “caving in” and a man being treated by paramedics at the scene.
Five appliances from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue initially attended the blaze on Buchanan Road shortly after 8am on Tuesday, May 16.
Residents were urged to keep doors and windows closed and people were told to avoid the area if possible.
The fire has now been extinguished.
One of the neighbours told Lincolnshire Reporter that she was preparing her children to go to school when she heard a fire alarm go off.
She rushed out to help her neighbours and ensure that everyone was safe, including their pets.
The woman said that a roof on one of the houses had “caved in”.
Photos taken by Lincolnshire Reporter illustrate that significant damage has been caused to the roof of one property, with residents adding that damage has been caused on the other side, out of camera shot.
No-one is believed to have been seriously injured.
However, a man has been treated in an ambulance which also attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
