Plans for over 200 homes in a village south of Boston have been received by the council.

Applicants Larkfleet Ltd in partnership with Allison Homes have submitted the proposals for 215 homes on just over 10 hectares of agricultural land on the outskirts of Kirton.

Access to the proposed homes would be from Middlegate Road West and the applicants have said that public open spaces and a children’s play area would be created.

The properties would predominately be two storey houses with a limited number of bungalows.

Around 43 of the homes (20%) would be classed as “affordable housing”.

The scheme also proposes to incorporate sustainable drainage techniques in the form of two retention ponds and swales in the central portion of the site.

Agents Freeths LLP, speaking on behalf of the applicants, said: “In summary, the application site represents a well related opportunity to meet the requirement for additional housing land.

Importantly, it is considered to be in a sustainable location, well within walking and cycling distance of essential services and facilities in Kirton village centre.

Boston Borough Council’s planning committee will consider the application at a later date.
