Plans for M&S Foodhall as part of new Skegness retail park

A new M&S Foodhall is expected to arrive in Skegness should planning permission be granted by East Lindsey District Council.

If given the green light, the new foodhall will join the proposed development in the former Skegness Town Football Club along with Aldi, Pets at Home and a new Marston’s Pub, creating around 200 jobs.

Marks & Spencer has previously had a clothes store in the town but closed it down in 2011.

East Lindsey District Council’s Economic Development Team Leader, Jon Burgess, said: “It is good news for Skegness that M&S could be returning to the resort.

“There are some significant proposals in the pipeline for Skegness which if delivered will create employment opportunities for local residents and enhance the existing offer which can only be positive for the economy of the area.”

This is the second store to be announced in Lincolnshire in August after plans were submitted for an additional M&S Foodhall in Lincoln.

Head of Property Planning at M&S Rob Morray said: “Our new store would offer customers the very best of M&S food, as well as play a role in the local community.”
