A £20 million collection of war planes and luxury sports cars will put Lincolnshire on the map after Props and Pistons Show organisers confirmed that plans were well underway for a sixth event.
Bush Tyres and the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre are already assembling a collection of iconic attractions for the event on August 29, with all donations going towards the Leukaemia Trust.
The RAF Battle of Britain Spitfire, Lancaster and Hurricane will take flight, while on the ground a display of world-class cars including Ferrari, Bentley, Aston Martin and Porsche will be on show.
Between 4,000 and 5,000 spectators are expected to attend Props and Pistons, where a P40 Kittyhawk and P51 Mustang are also expected to take to the skies.
Organisers, Bush Tyres, said: “This will be our sixth Props and Pistons event and we genuinely feel that it can be our most successful yet.
“And the more money we can raise for the Leukaemia Trust, the better.”
Bridgestone Tyres will also create an unusual spectacle of its own, when it punctures its revolutionary DriveGuard tyres before demonstrating how motorists can keep on driving afterwards.
Bridgestone’s key accounts manager Sam Allatt said: “The event provides an invaluable platform to showcase our new DriveGuard product, which allows motorists to drive for up to 50 miles at speeds up to 50mph following a puncture.
“We hope that families will be interested in the technology, so it is a great opportunity for us to be at the show.”
